That frozen afternoon walking through back alleys everything pristine clean-edged like autumn against harsh blue-white sky
it all (sort of) fell
not like pebbles
splashing and sloshing or like leaves drifting and fluttering; but a dropping, and a settling.
It was that (sort of) fall
